At long last...................
For anyone that know me I am not a political person and have no plans to be. But when I have to tell customers that their visit to the USA, Egypt, Tunisia, Rome, Las Vegas, Australia, to name but a very small portion of the places and counties that charge either a city tax and or a visa for us UK citizens. I do find it difficult, especially when it appears we offer a come and stay for free view.
My Grandad will be pleased that I have finally got an interest in something our politicians have to say....................

St Lucia
My little sister got married in Sandals St. Lucia about 10 years ago and loved it, from the Pitons, catamaran rides, coco plantation tours, and the overall beauty of the Island. Of course getting married at Sandals didn't help either.
I loved this port of call it was easy to jump off the ship and be in Castries, so you can wonder around the town and local market, however it is not the prettiest place on the Island so if you get a chance to take an excursion grab it.

P&O have honoured costs of cruises for customers
Customers often ask what happens if a cruise goes wrong, well below is an announcement P&O made on one such event this year; I did have customers on this sailing and they gave them the full refund of the cruise and offered to put it against a new sailing or one they have already booked. The customers are upset that they were not able to complete the cruise as intended but pleased they did not have to argue the point. Princess Cruises New for 2015
Princess have given us a prevail of a few new to 2015 sailings which were launched recently.
So what’s happening???
Firstly they are rebranding there slogan from "Escape completely" to "Come back New", the idea is to separate from the other brands in the carnival group to give princess their own identity and attract travellers who preferred to travel for the experience and the more discerning traveller.
Secondly and I think the best announcement
Princess are going to give Free drinks packages on certain sailing for 2015.
Drinks will be available on Caribbean Princess from Southampton. 7,14 &21 night fly-med with Emerald Princess and the grand Mediterranean sailings on Island Princess from Barcelona and Venice. This is always as plus.
More cruise companies are offering the free drinks packages and this can only be a good thing for us travellers.
Thirdly The Royal princess is going to be sailing from Southampton for 2015. Which I will try to convince my husband is a must as she is a beautiful ship. I think an anniversary cruise will be an excellent idea. I like to make him think he has a choice on our holidays.
Sail on 2015 cruises. It looks like it will be an exciting year for Princess.

Where next??
With a short trip to Cornwall under my belt, to make sure the father-in-laws house in in one piece after our Great British weather this winter. The dread had subsided and a day trip to St Ives was of course on the cards. The sun decided to bless us with her presence for a lovely but cold day out. It encouraged us to visit again in the Easter holidays and spirited us on to think about our next trip abroad.
Of course I am lucky enough to have excellent customers who have helped me commit to Coop Values and strive to succeed along with the Charity work for http://www.thetrustforthestudyofhomicide.co.uk/ and the http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/ Coop are sending me and a select group to experience the fabulous Rocky Mountaineer.
We will be going to Canada on the Rocky Mountaineer!
Flights – 03MAY14 to 08MAY14
2 nights Vancouver
2 days Rocky Mountaineer (1 night Kamloops)
2 nights Banff/Lake Louise area
I am very lucky o be doing this, but being so close to Alaska it’s a shame not to sail off on a 7 night cruise as well.
Thinking about this trip yourself call me for details on 01922 705983.
My husband of course would like us to go away so we have started to think about next year holidays, that way I can track the price and work our when is best to book. The options I am looking at are China- river cruise and Bangkok stay, 3 week Australia and New Zealand tour and the last one is USA - National parks road trip. It’s so difficult when you know you want to do all three. I think as there is three of use the China one will have to wait for a few more years when the little one is wanting to distance himself for his old parents and we will not have to pay for two cabins. (This is a great sounding board). That means the other two will be tracked and coasted on a monthly basis for best prices and destinations to go within the areas we want to visit.
I do this for all of the big holidays we are planning that way we do not feel sick when offers are about. We have a good idea what to expect to pay and when the price gets around the lowest amount we book it.
If this is something you are interested in; let me know and I can keep an eye open for your next great adventure.
In the meantime Le man on the 13th June will be a great break for us both, I just need to try to resist booking anything else through the year.

Dubai News
We have had this recent update on Dubai,
Dubai is to introduce tourist tax
Visitors to Dubai will be charged a room tax from the end of March to help fund projects for the 2020 World Expo convention, it has been announced
The Tourism Dirham’ tax will apply to all guests staying at hotels, hotel apartments, guesthouses and holiday homes from March 31. The fee, ranging from AED 7 (£1.17) to AED 20 (£3.33), according to the type of accommodation, will be charged per room, per night, adding up to £23 to the cost of a one-week holiday.
This tax will apply to all passengers arriving after the end of March irrelevant of when they booked their holiday.
I think we should start to charge tax for people visiting us as well, join Rome, Dubai, Las Vegas amoung a few, we could then put it towards our NHS.

Seabourn and Windstar
Windstar new ship the Star pride is to set sail in May 2014, giving them what I am sure will be a beautiful new Power Yacht for their fleet.
The Star Pride is a Suite only ship what will hold 212 guests. To give your that exclusive feel. Elegance made casual look to give you that home from home feel thatyou will never what to leave. The refurbishment of the Pride will give it Windstars unique feel and experie>nce.
So who was she before and what are Windstars plans for the future?
Windstar currently have 3 intimate yachts Spirit, Star and Surf, they generally do unique itinerary’s which sail into the small ports and hidden harbours, in April 2015 they are set to take on the Seabourn Legend and the Seabourn Sprit, there first voyages will take place in May 2015. I am sure that you have also guessed by now that the Star pride used to be the Seabourn Pride. The transformation I am sure will be amazing.
They will have doubled their fleet size with these take over; I will miss the sails though.
Seabourn, are a unique cruising company itself they not long brought on 3 new vessels Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest which updated there fleet. So with the sale of the Pride class of ships to Windstar what will there expand. we intend to add a fourth ship of similar design," Seabourn's president Richard Meadows announced "Seabourn is already in discussion with shipbuilders, and an order is likely to be announced within the current fiscal year." But will it be the small ship we are used to, or is there going to be a new era for Seabourn which will bring in a larger vessel?

Thailand Travel Advice 21st Jan 2014
An update on the travel advice for the civil unrest in Thailand:
On 21 January 2014 the Thai Government declared a 60-day State of Emergency in Bangkok and surrounding areas from 22 January 2014. This gives the Government additional powers including the power to impose curfews and bans on assembly, restrict information dissemination, and impose restrictions on travel and access to buildings.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advice for Thailand has been updated with an amendment. FCO advise against all but essential travel to the provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla on the Thai-Malaysia border.
The FCO advise against all travel to the Preah Vihear (Khaoi Pra Viharn in Thai) temple area and the Ta Krabey/Ta Moan temple area located on the Thai-Cambodian border due to the presence of troops in the area and the risk of outbreaks of fighting and a high threat of terrorism.
Political demonstrations continue in and around Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand. Some of these have been violent, including the use of firearms, and there have been casualties and deaths. The situation is unpredictable and further protests are expected.
Customers should take extra care and avoid all protests, political gatherings, demonstrations and marches. If travelling to the airport, allow extra time to take account of possible transport delays, and consider using the airport rail link. Monitor local news and social media for developments.
The Thai authorities have set up a Tourist’s Friend Centre to provide information for tourists. Offices are located at the Sport Authority of Thailand in the Bangkapi district of Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports, four BTS Skytrain stations (Siam, Phya Thai, Ekkamai and Wong Wian Yai) and Hua Lampong MRT station. You can also contact the Tourist’s Friend Centre by telephone on +66 (0)2 314 1212 (in English – 24 hours).

New Announcement Live Sporting Action With
P&O Cruises and Cunard in 2014
Passengers can keep up with all the action from a momentous year of sport with P&O Cruises and Cunard.
Whether it’s Andy Murray defending his Wimbledon title or Roy Hodgson’s England team playing in the World Cup in Brazil, live coverage will be screened on board across the two fleets of ships.
All coverage will be shown in public areas on board, starting with the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi next month.
The second half of the Premier League season will feature ahead of the FIFA World Cup in June and July. German Bundesliga matches will be shown together with Formula 1 motor racing, the Australian French and US Open tennis tournaments and golf’s Ryder Cup, Open Championship and US Open.
Live coverage to will be available to all P&O Cruises and Cunard passengers on Sport 24, and is satellite dependent.
Chief commercial officer Gerard Tempest said: “We are delighted to be able to include coverage of these major sporting events on board.
“We don’t want passengers to miss out on any of the excitement of the games by taking a cruise holiday – and now they won’t. Besides, I can’t think of a better way to watch the World Cup, or see Murray serve to retain his Wimbledon title, than sipping a mojito in the Med!”
For summer cruises to watch the World Cup or Wimbledon:
P&O Cruises is offering a selection of seven and 14-night fly-cruise holidays in the Mediterranean on family-friendly contemporary ship Ventura from £999pp. Based on N413B cruise departing June 25, 2014, the Select Price fare includes return flights from Gatwick, Birmingham or Manchester, a seven-night cruise in an inside cabin, full board meals and entertainment on board.
Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 will undertake 18 seven-night Atlantic crossings between Southampton and New York, with fares from £1,099pp including one-way flight.
To be honest it's about time they added the Live Sporting Action, it's been many years that there sister company Princess has had this facility
Queen Mary turns 10 Years old
It’s crazy to think it's been that long, but on the 8th January The Queen Mary 2, turned 10.
So what did the weather do a few days earlier to celebrate:
This is New York where she was buried in 2ft of snow.
Thankfully her sailing was but back a couple of hours for her transatlantic crossing back to Southampton, to allow for time for passengers to join.
In Southampton the Queen Elizabeth was also joining her to celebrate her big sisters birthday. I am sure the fireworks display was excellent.

All Change for Turkey visa’s
With the American visas going electronic a few years back, it was not long before other counties followed suit.
You guessed it: Turkey as of the 10th April 2014 are no longer allowing British citizens to purchase there entrance visas when they jump off the plane.
You now need to purchase them before you travel. except for cruise ship passengers with ‘British Citizen’ passports entering the country for a day trip, remaining in the port of embarkation and returning to the ship the same day.
Turkish visit visas issued on arrival are valid for multiple stays up to a maximum of 90 days in a 180 day period. Up to 31 January 2012, the Turkish immigration authorities operated a flexible interpretation of this requirement whereby visitors could leave after 90 days, and immediately re-enter for a further 90 day period. The rules are now fully enforced, and you will only be able to stay in Turkey for a total of 90 days in any period of 180 days.
As with when the American visas first came on line there was some companies making profit from the changes therefore be aware:
Some unauthorised websites may charge for information about e-visas, and for submitting applications. These websites are not endorsed by or associated with the Turkish government. Be wary of such sites and businesses, particularly those that seek additional fees for other services.
If you hold a different type of British nationality (BN(O), British Overseas Citizen, British Protected Person or British Subject), check visa requirements with the Turkish Embassy before you travel.
Make sure your passport has a blank page for the visa stamp. If it does not, the Turkish authorities will issue an ‘Entry-Exit form’ and put your entry-exit stamp on there. You should carry this form with you in Turkey and present it to the border officers when you leave.
you are entering Turkey via the Bulgarian border crossing, make sure your passport has a dated entry stamp before you leave the border crossing area. Some British nationals have got a visa but not had their passport stamped. In some cases, this has resulted in detention and deportation for illegal entry.
Working illegally without the correct visa and work permit could result in deportation from Turkey, a fine and a ban on re-entering. You may be held in a detention centre awaiting deportation and are unlikely to be able to collect your belongings before departure.
So what’s the Web site to get the online visa?
