With Antigua, I always think the destination sells itself, with the clear blue waters and the beauty of the port I would just enclose these two picture's but I do think I should write a little more:
nope that's it gorgeous.......oh the history...Slaves....Nelsons Dockyard....Beaches- OK.
Antigua is a small island of about 14 miles long by 11 miles wide so you do not have to worry about getting lost. It is a great place to go snorkelling as the corals are fantastic along with the powdery soft beaches, there is something for every couple.
A great beach to go to is runaway bay. Not far from the port, but nothing really is!!!
If you fancy a bit of shopping you have the Heritage quay which is close to the port, as the name suggests it has heritage to it, as it is a converted slave compound. If you would like heritage of any type there is also Nelsons dockyard at English Harbour. Nothing is to far but you may want to go on a ships visit to make sure you do not lose yourself in the location.
Climate
Antigua is one of the sunniest islands in the eastern Caribbean and enjoys northeast trade winds that keep the humidity low. Antigua and Barbuda are consistently hot, averaging year-round 8 to 9 hours of sunshine daily, winters are a little cooler and July to November are the rainy months, so you might see some heavy interruptions of rain on occasions. Nothing like the UK though.
