River cruises

River cruises have become very popular in the last 10 years, There is more and more companies wanting a slice of the market. It can be a bit of a mine field on selecting the right company for you.  Below is a quick guide to whats included across the companies,

I am trying to get around to seeing as many rivers as possible, Having been on the Main, Rhine and the Nile.  I am about to embark on the Danube next week, I am very excited by the prospect.

At present, river cruises demographic tends to be the over 55's. Like with the ocean liners in days gone by, it was thought of for the older generation. To be honest I don't think it will be long before the younger professionals cotton on to River cruising. Yes, there is not so much to do on board but relax, but you dock in a beautiful town or city, where there is always something going on. You also tend to find they visit at least one main city.

The days can be very packed and I have to say you find the evening you need to relax a bit.
