Scenic Opal
I am not going to spend my time saying one river liner is better than another, as with ocean cruising and land based holidays depends, on what you are looking for.
Today is the turn of Scenic Opal, great 5 star ship, with a small two rooms for
massages/spa treatments, a small gym, but to be fair is larger than any other river liner I have been on to date. There is a lift for the disabled (One disabled room but room for two wheelchair sers) a swimming pool on top deck alomg with a track for walking/jogging. The food is of 5 star quality, with the afternoon tea being fantastic.
The main dining is a mixture of buffet and waitered with the main meal being waitered service.
The staff are helpful and entertaining, but what really is an added benifit is the GPS systems in your room, you get the option to listen to it as you sail along the river not only does it gove you your location but, information on the area and informative talks, you also have the option to take it off board if you do not wish to go on the free guided excursions that are included in your cruise price. The entainment at night (well at least this night) is what you would expect on a river cruise. If you would like to hear about it call me on 01922 3200252 the 2nd December. Otherwise, please view the pictures for an idea. They also provideed a great wine tasting session, well worth doing.
The rooms are spacious and well thought out. They have good lighting and storage with a his and her wardrobe and plenty of hanging space for 7 nights. There is a warm feel to the rooms and the tv gives you an option of a fireplace giving you that extra home comfort.
The balcony are very good and you can choose to have it as part of the room or partition it off. You also have an electric control of the window given you an option to create a floor to ceiling window or the balcony. The balcony space is suitable for a table and two chairs.
I would sail on her myself with my husband, not for my teenage son. I however would look to venture into the port stop for the main entertainment of the night, if you wanted a more lively alternative.
Prices are from £1500 per person, and the they sail various rivers including the Mekong.

The television in the room, so I am just going to say you need to just try it.
